Wednesdays :)

I never fail to be amazed by my God. He is always showing me ways He loves me, ways He cares for me and ways He provides for me. In my whole life, I have been so extremely blessed! I grew up with an amazing family who loved and served the Lord, I got to see my father come to the Lord after years and years of praying, I have friends who support me and back me up. Nothing terrible had happened in my life until my grandfather passed away very unexpectedly in an accident my freshman year of college. Even through that tragedy, I saw my family come even closer together, saw us draw nearer to God than we already were. Why, with all of that, is it so easy to take it all for granted? God is always there, He always wants us to be talking and listening to Him, why do we fail to do that so easily? I have come to love Wednesday nights. One of my roommates and I get together with 2 other girls from our bible study group and have a girls night. We always cook and sometimes watch movies or play games, and sometimes we just talk. Tonight was an amazing night and I thank God so much for people in my life that I can have nights like this with. They came over and we cooked tacos and ate and the conversation started out really lighthearted and casual. With other groups of friends, the conversation may have stayed that way for the entire night. But with these girls, we can go so much deeper, we can talk about what is really on our hearts and it is so comforting and uplifting to know that some of the issues that are on my heart are on theirs as well. It was one of those nights, a small blessing, that made me fall on my knees in adoration of my King. I am so thankful to be surrounded by people that have God as the center and the focus of their life. It makes all the difference in the world to sit down around a dinner table and talk about things with God at the center! " As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." Proverbs 27:17

First One!

It's the last week of classes before finals start, but I don't have any finals this semester. It's nice- I'm not at all complaining- it's just super strange to not have to be studying for anything. I am also done writing lesson plans for the semester, all I have left is turing in my practicum notebook for reading next week. So, yes, it is nice to be done with the semester early, but that just means I am stuck in Angelo until finals are over anyway, and I would so rather be back in the Hill Country. But, I will be back soon enough and have every intention of escaping to the lakehouse until I have to come back to school in January. In the mean time, I am trying to keep myself occupied, thus the beginning of this blog... and some other projects. The top of that list was organizing my room- I spent the last 2 nights going through school work, notes, books, and everything else in my room. I threw away a lot of stuff and found some clothes and shoes to donate and now have a very clean and organized room. The only downside... I don't like to stop cleaning once I've started until it's done. But it's done now and I can get a normal amount of sleep tonight! Score!
Fun Projects I am looking forward to doing:
- making Christmas cards
- baking some treats to go along with the Christmas cards.. if you know me, be excited :)
- planning the New York trip my best friend and I are taking in a couple weeks!
